Bolzano, Bozen, Bulsan. South Tyrol's provincial capital. Things are happening. New, locally inspired, high-quality open spaces are being created right next to the train station. The green centerpiece: Berloffa-Park. The northern section, designed in keeping with its history, is a classic public park. With mature trees, lush new plantings of grasses and shade shrubs, the historic frog fountain, and the bust of Heinrich Noë, now relocated to the center, it's a quiet place for contemplation. In front of the new WaltherPark, however, a green urban square is being created with recreational opportunities and attractions: a spacious fountain field, an identity-forming play sculpture, and the "Passarella" street furniture as a meeting place or for fashion shows. Another special feature: Bahnhofstraße, converted into a pedestrian park promenade, guides visitors into Bolzano's old town. Overall: a sophisticated ensemble of open spaces appropriate to the importance and beauty of Bolzano. A place for Bolzano residents and their guests.
