Award Competition 3rd prize

Location 14089 Berlin

The former Gatow airport in Berlin-Spandau. 90 hectares within the immediate reach of regional park Döberitzer Heide. The task: a landscape design and masterplan that will create identity. But also: a park for leisure that integrates the idea of "urban farming". The concept: developing further the characteristically wide open landscape with its formative spatial sequences, visual axes and path networks and a well-balanced coexistence of intensive and extensive agricultural spaces. Essentially oriented along images of classical agricultural structures and featuring openness and vastness that contrast the adjacent urban spaces.
