Speichersdorf in Upper Franconia. A municipality with two historically independent village centres and a separate railway station. In between: Residential areas with the town hall, the school and the sports arena. The new community park will complement and strengthen the town centre. With a variety of facilities and green spaces organised around a large central meadow. With a ‘sports park’ for urban activities such as skating, streetball, beach volleyball, table tennis, etc. Complementing this is the soft counterpart: the ‘play forest’ with a small-scale, topographically diverse and refreshing character and facilities for children and young people. The bundling of sport in the east and play in the west allows the rest of the park to be designed in a quieter, more unagitated way. All parts of the park are connected by a circular path. As an incentive for informal exercise, for jogging, scooting or walking. Small widenings along the path create recreational areas with intergenerational activities such as boules, a communal table for picnics, sports equipment for senior citizens and the like. Overall: A lovely place on the way to an inclusive community.
