Vulkan Square

Vulkan Square in Zurich. Entrance square to a station, traffic node, and thus a place of constant movement. Transitory. With Vulcano, the god of fire as its eponym and locally as a reminder to the industrial past and the technique of vulcanisation. That is: caoutchouc becomes rubber. The idea: "the elastomer". As a strong statement, as a visual point of identification. But also for its haptic experience as a material: lots of rubber! Static and sculptural from afar, when approaching the elastomer becomes a versatile play object. And a haptic explosion.
